Dining table size guide

Choose a size that seats everyone comfortably and leaves room to pull chairs out and walk around. Three quick checks:

1. Seating

Allow about 60 cm of table edge per person. Actual capacity depends on your chairs and where the base sits.

2. Space around the table

  • 90 cm from the table edge to a wall or furniture is the minimum to sit down and push a chair back.
  • 110–120 cm if people walk behind the chairs, e.g. a route to the kitchen.
  • 45–60 cm on a side that sits against a wall and isn't used for seating.

3. Minimum room size

90 cm or 100 cm deep?

90 cm suits narrower rooms. 100 cm gives more space between opposite place settings and room for serving dishes down the middle. All our dining tables are 76 cm high.

Quick tip

Mark the table's outline on the floor with masking tape, set a chair at each side and walk around it. It's the easiest way to be sure before you order.

Wipe the tabletop with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it afterwards. Clean spills quickly, particularly wine, coffee, oil, vinegar and citrus drinks.
Avoid bleach, acidic cleaners, abrasive products and rough cleaning pads. Use placemats, coasters and protective pads underneath hot dishes, serving pieces and decorative objects.
Do not drag heavy or sharp items across the surface. A suitable natural-stone sealer can be applied when required, following the product instructions.

What is the Eden Dining Table made from?
The Eden is made from genuine natural travertine marble. The oval tabletop and both pedestal bases are made from natural stone.
Which travertine colours are available?
The Eden Dining Table is available in Beige Travertine, Silver Travertine and Red Travertine. Natural colour and markings will vary from one slab to another.
What shape is the Eden Dining Table?
The table has an oval top with smoothly curved ends. This provides good dining space while avoiding the sharp corners of a rectangular table.
Which size should I choose?
The 180 cm size works well for many six-seat dining areas, while the 200 cm and 220 cm options provide more room for larger seating arrangements. Always measure your dining space and allow enough room around the table for chairs to move comfortably.
Why does the Eden Dining Table have two pedestal bases?
The two stone pedestals support the long tabletop and help spread its weight. Their position also leaves more usable space around the outer edges for dining chairs.
Why might my table look different from the product image?
Travertine is a natural stone, so colour, lines, markings and texture will vary. These differences are normal and mean every table has its own natural appearance.
Are small pits and holes normal in travertine?
Yes. Small pits and surface variations occur naturally in travertine and are not considered manufacturing defects.
How should I clean the Eden Dining Table?
Use a soft cloth with a small amount of water or a cleaner designed for natural stone. Dry the surface afterwards and avoid acidic or abrasive cleaning products.
Can I place hot dishes directly on the tabletop?
We recommend using heat-resistant mats or trivets underneath hot cookware and serving dishes. This helps protect the stone and its finish.
Can the Eden Dining Table be made in a custom size or different marble?
Yes. Custom sizes can be made, and the table can also be produced in whichever suitable marble the customer prefers.
